whitney and chris

A picture perfect wedding in the northwoods of Wisconsin. A speciality of ours for sure. Armed with three cameras, bug spray, sunscreen, and assistant Heaven Lee, the oasis of the Chippewa Retreat Resort surrounded by lakes and trees was the perfect setting for Whitney and Chris. We were welcomed into their family - literally with open arms - from the time we met them at their rehearsal, then cried with them during their vows, and shook our butts with them on the dance floor. We love working this part of Wisconsin, Manitowish Waters in particular. (Plus we were able to sneak a nightcap at the Little Bohemia Lodge, site of an FBI shootout with the Dillinger gang in 1934.) The light here is gorgeous in a way that I don't see in Michigan. It's just... different. We could have done without the mayflies stuck to our legs and faces (omg) but the wind kept the rest of the bugs away and provided some nice drama to Whitney's veil and the bridesmaids' dresses.
