mtec smartzone / ge aviation

Nice new home for Jason and the team from GE Aviation. Shot for the State of Michigan’s MTEC SmartZone, this is at the completion of the remodel of the 3rd floor of the PowerHouse building. Gel on remote strobe, tripod, long exposure, 17-35mm lens here. Shot 3 floors with a variety of angles, used the fancy fisheye lens for a few trick shots shot lying on my back. 180 degree field of view, so it was hard not to shoot my toes. The shot here is a pretty standard one though…

brewery creek racing

And I’m not even sure how to describe what we did today. As part of a media package for Truman and his Brewery Creek Racing company, we spent a half day shooting the progression of a run. I spent about half of the time strapped to the back of an ATV as we raced in front of the team on the trail. In one of the shots below, Todd is showing me how to unstrap myself if we flip over. Thanks, Todd. All shots were natural light with a 200mm lens. Had the VR off on the lens as I was able to shoot quickly enough, but it was pretty tough to get a clean shot, let alone frame it properly as we bounced around and around. Nice job, dogs!

kikkan randall – studio

After a World Cup win in Russia, and two national titles at the U.S. Championships, Kikkan graced the Brockit studio for some press shots. Nice job, Kikkan. The race photography shots are here.

finnbiskit – photoshoot

Ah, finnbiskit. We shot on-location at the Sol-Blue Cafe. Using ambient light and some, remote strobes with gels, we shot the next line in less than an hour, and whilst sipping on excellent martinis. Thanks, Sol-Blue. Eco-chic Heidi herself is modeling here and never needs to be told how to pose. Nice work, girl.
