What a pleasure to head out to the DeLongs and shoot some family photos for them on their lovely property. Very harsh mid-day sun, but had some good luck with diffuse, natural light. Very deep snow out there. The DeLongs all had snowshoes, which were as functional as photogenic; the photographer should have dug his out of the car also! An inspiring, beautiful family.

Joyce always has challenging artwork to shoot, but it is such a pleasure to see her work while the paint is still tacky. Natural light with a silver & gold reflector to make the light uniform across the face of the paintings. I admit that it would be much more tough without Adobe Lightroom, but that is hardly cheating. The shot below is Kora’s favorite piece. Not sure what you’ve titled it, Joyce, but Kora calls it ‘a big sheep with a chick in the window.’ Nice work.

Woo hoo! Got the package from Katie at USSA today. Katie, thanks for the gifts; everything fits and is keeping me warm!

You might recognize Amy as a photogenic bride from Brockit’s 2007 wedding season. One of her shots made it into the ‘Reflections Gallery’ show in Hancock and is featured on the main website. We couldn’t schedule Amy’s engagement shots before her wedding, so she cashed in her raincheck this weekend. She rocked again. We shot using natural light and took advantage of the falling snow. Nice job, Amy!

Shot 5 hours, on location, with a portable studio for a new restaurant’s menu. Strobes & modifiers, IR triggered. It was an unusual setup but it had to be close to the kitchen and staff to get the food right out and shot while it was steamy, frozen, or otherwise photogenic. Hard to do with the flu, but it worked. Nice job staff, and Karyn - always nice to work with you!

We shot with Lyndsey this afternoon. It was relatively warm for February; 25 degrees or so, but not if you’re modeling in the snow… Back from New York, we shot as a set of glamor shots for her portfolio. We shot two locations using natural light and a gold reflector. Everyone now has the flu, but at least nobody got frostbitten. Nice job, Lyndsey.
